Welcome To Flea Circus™ Books

 PRESS RELEASE MARCH 31, 2012

The first novel published by Flea Circus Books has passed a major milestone. On 31 March, 2012, Winter Kill - War With China Has Already Started, by Gene Skellig ( http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0050D7E06 ) passed the 1,000 book sold mark. This is in addition to the 5,744 eBook copies of Winter Kill we have given away as free promotional copies through the Amazon KDP Select program. As the goal for Flea Circus Books is to achieve 500 books sold in the first twelve months of a book's life, it is clear that Winter Kill has far exceeded this 'measure of success', having passed the 500 book benchmark in January

- just seven months after publication. Sales of Winter Kill continued to improve, and Winter Kill passed the 1,000 sold threshold just three months later, in the tenth month after publication. With sales of Winter Kill continuing to rise thanks to positive feedback of the book-buying public, we are optimistic that Winter Kill may reach 1,200 books sold by mid May, the end if its first year! The goal for year two is to pass the 3,000 book threshold, or be picked up by a literary agent or major publishing house.  While not all books will have the same success as Winter Kill, the lessons learned in the completion, editing, launch, promotions and marketing of this book are being applied to benefit all projects published in association with Flea Circus Books. If you are now a fan of Gene Skellig's books, look for other novels under the "Books" tab (above).

If you are an author, editor, cover artist, niche marketing entrepreneur or a subject matter expert please check out all of our information and consider if the Flea Circus is right for you!

What is the Flea Circus?

The Flea Circus™ is a professional media interchange intended to help self-publishing authors solve the three critical problems we all face: How to elevate the quality? How to lower the costs? and How to effectively market? The Flea Circus has solved all three of these problems with what we call “Royalties-Based Collaborative Self-Publishing”.  In our system, authors pitch their book projects to “Content Collaborators” and “Niche Marketing” entrepreneurs through the Flea Circus™ Interchange (FCI).

Why do we need the Flea Circus?

Whether due to the power of the internet as a research tool, the capabilities of today’s computers, economic pressures and the range of e-book, Print on Demand (POD) and other pathways to self-publishing there is a massive expansion in the number of books being published by independent and self-publishing authors. So you are publishing into a landslide of new books. Your book is as tiny and insignificant as a grain of sand on the beach.

Perhaps, with a sense of humour, you may agree that to the publishing industry you are as insignificant as a flea who has bitten off more than it can chew!  Once you accept that, you may be less vulnerable to the “add to the cart” types of services and other ways that an author can spend a lot of money on a book project.  With our royalties-based content collaboration system you do not invest money in your book project.  It all hinges on your ability to attract Content Collaborators and Niche Marketing Entrepreneurs to your project. The intent of these collaborations is to elevate the quality, reduce the costs, and effectively market your book project.  Your collaborators will have a direct interest in the intellectual property rights, so the risk – and the motivation – is shared.
